The festival of cinema of Rome ready to join again with the success of its 1st edition

With fourteen films in competition, of world exclusivenesses and large stars announced on the red carpet, the festival of cinema of Rome is on the point of joining again Thursday with the success of its first edition which had skilfully known to mix spangles and general public.

A French film, “the Second breath” of Alain Corneau, will open the ball Thursday evening by revealing astonishing Monica Bellucci with the mane blonde, at the sides of Daniel Auteuil, Michel Blanc, Eric Cantona and Jacques Dutronc.

Drawn from a detective novel of Giovanni, old taken again justice which had reported a missed escape bid based on its stay in prison, “the Second breath” is a remake of film of Jean-Pierre Melville turned with Lino Ventura in 1966.

Fourteen feature films will be in competition with the Festival of the cinema of the Eternal City (October 18-27), of which “hidden love” of Alessandro Capone with Isabelle Huppert, “Reservation road” of the American Terry George, or “Li Chun” of the Chinese Changwei Gu.

Fifteen films will be also projected in world preview, of which “Youth without youth”, the last work of Francis Ford Coppola after ten years of absence of the large screen, “Lions for Lambs” of Robert Redford with Tom Cruise, or “Elisabeth: the perfect age “of the Indian Shekhar Kapur with Cate Blanchett. Without counting flopĂ©e stars who will ravel each evening on the red carpet in front of the auditorium of Rome, of which Sean Penn, Cate Blanchett, Reese Witherspoon, Sophia Loren, Tim Robbins, Robbie Williams or Halle Berry.
