To practice Karaoke is great, but do you really know the history of it?
Karaoke is a Japanese word origin. “Kara” comes from “karappo” which means “vacuum“. And “Oke” comes from “will okesutura” which wants to say “orchestra“. Karaoke makes it possible to the participants to sing (in solo, duet or chorus), while being accompanied by the music which it chose to interpret in front of a public, such a genuine star.
This entertainment became a fashion in the beginning of the Nineties. But its origin goes up at the Sixties, when Mitch Miller animated in the USA on CBS channel the emission “Sing along with Mitch”, where the televiewer could sing at his place through the words which were posted on his television set.
